A survey of top business leaders

Every two years GE surveys the world’s most inventive leaders about the future of innovation. The result is the Global Innovation Barometer, a bi-annual campaign developed in partnership with Little Red Robot.

In our most recent edition, the greatest challenge to humanity in over a century arrived as we were heading to finish up the campaign, COVID-19 emerged. After careful assessment, we went to gather more data specifically attributed to how COVID-19 has affected innovation. This report carried the extra significance of the ability to compare data gathered before the pandemic to 6 months after the global shut-down, which provided a powerful, one-of-a-kind set of insights and findings.

Little Red Robot strategists and creatives offered a powerful futuristic visual system of design as the basis for the campaign – which relied on a contemporary eye-popping abstract 3D design aesthetic.

Photography and live-action video were paired with 3d animations and illustrations to create a visual feast for the eyes. In addition to this elegant design system we coded a freakishly cool responsive website with many bells and whistles.

Our favorite features is is taking our beautiful 3D designs into WebGL and creating real-time visitor driven interactions where they could touch and interact with the design language and interactive data features, which was stunning on desktop, mobile and tablets.

The campaign won several awards and gained accolades worldwide including from our client at GE who said “Many people reached out to comment on how beautiful the IB site is. And, it really is. Thank you for your partnership, your focus and your creative vision.”

The site itself gathered thousands of unique impressions from the moment it launched. We loved taking a challenge of how to turn a report on innovation into something memorable, engaging, share-worthy and innovative itself.
