2018 Global Innovation Barometer

A survey of top business leaders

Little Red Robot was tapped by GE to serve as the lead creative agency tasked with developing the 2018 GE Global Innovation Barometer. The Global Innovation Barometer is a survey of top business leaders worldwide that explores the state of innovation today from the drivers of innovation and its barriers to examining what innovators are doing to succeed.

The challenge was that all previous year’s efforts were not executed in a way that felt contemporary, more like a powerpoint deck than a modern interactive capable experience with a strong visual identity. Additionally we needed to target a global audience not just US based, so we had to make the design universal and modular to be translated in over 14 languages. To add more pressure the campaign was to be rolled out within a paid and earned media strategy timed to coincide with the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics.

Little Red Robot designed a universal brand identity system for the campaign.

Then based on this design system we coded a freakishly cool responsive website with many bells and whistles including full screen embedded custom video content, WebGL interactions, real-time data driven polling and an all encompassing mobile first approach.

The campaign was deployed through paid media coordinated on NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage, CNN, Quartz and Axios which netted 50.4+MM impressions, 2.8MM email opens and 161K unique page views for 156k minutes spent on the site.
